KRAMER TO TEACH FIVE-WEEK WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP AT GRAI

Bellows Falls, Vt. – The Great River Arts Institute (GRAI) will offer a five-week watercolor workshop with local artist Marlene Kramer starting Wednesday, March 15. The sessions will run from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

This workshop in “Watery Watercolors” is great for experienced as well as beginning artists to help them loosen up and be free in their work. Students will learn to simplify shapes and see the essence of an object. Design, color and movement will also be studied.

Kramer, a former math teacher, started painting while raising three children on Long Island, NY. She studied with Edgar Whitney, Zolton Zsabo and Eloise Gardiner Giles. She is currently studying with Jeanne Carbonetti and Gerald Doucette. Her work can be seen at the Putney Public Library as well as the Pegasus Gallery in Queechee and the Chaffee Center of the Arts in Rutland. She is a member of the Vermont Watercolor Society, the Saxtons River Arts Guild and the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester.

The five-week workshop costs $100 and will be held at the GRAI studios at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, across from The Framery. For questions regarding the workshop, please call Kramer at 802-722-3378. The registration deadline is March 9 th.
