THE TRUST FAMILY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT TO GRAI FOR SUMMER CAMP IN THE ARTS
Bellows Falls, Vt. – The Great River Arts Institute (GRAI) announces that they have been awarded a grant from The Trust Family Foundation in the amount of $2,000 to support a summer camp in the arts. This is the second year that The Trust Family Foundation has supported GRAI’s camp. The camp has grown in popularity since its inception in 2003. Last year the variety of offerings drew more than 60 students in the 3 rd through 8 th grades. Marilou Blaine, school outreach coordinator and camp director notes, “This year we hope to attract 75 students in 2006 and increase the age range to 1 st through 8 th graders.”
The Fall Mountain Regional School District has again offered the North Walpole Elementary School and the Fall Mountain Regional High School to GRAI for the camp. Students will be able to choose two arts-related activities from a diverse program list. The list includes bookmaking, clay animation, introduction to drawing, advanced drawing, jewelry making, papier-mache, photography, pottery and watercolor painting. Classes run five days a week for three hours from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The camp will be held the last two weeks in July. The cost of the camp is $55 per week.
Parent comments about last year’s camp include, “Great enthusiasm and knowledgeable instruction” and “we are looking forward to next year!”
The Trust Family Foundation is based in New Hampshire and funds projects in the Arts, Education, Jewish Philanthropies and Medical Technology within New England.
