How to Write More, Write Better, and Be Happier: The Workshop – Joni Cole

This fun, interactive session for fiction and creative nonfiction writers of all levels uses the tried-and-true method of writing prompts (don’t be intimidated!) to help you access your stories and voice. In addition to in-class writing, participants will be required to submit 1-4 double-spaced pages of a work-in progress for “fast feedback” from the group. Whether you share an exploratory scene or a revised draft, the workshop is geared toward providing you with the support, guidance, and tailored responses you need to move forward with direction and confidence. Bring a notebook or laptop. Expect to leave with insights and motivation! Maximum enrollment: 8 writers.

Joni Cole


Joni B. Cole is the author of Toxic Feedback: Helping Writers Survive and Thrive. “Strongly recommended” by Library Journal for all writers, teachers, and workshop participants, the book also earned praise from American Book Review, which reported, “I can’t imagine a better guide to [writing's] rewards and perils than this fine book.” Joni is also the founding creator of the acclaimed “This Day” book series, including Water Cooler Diaries: Women across America Share Their Day at Work, described as “both fascinating and eye-opening” by Publisher’s Weekly.
