Monoprinting Collaborative : Sarah Amos

October 3-5, 2008
Three-day workshop limited to 8 participants
Tuition: $500
Application Form

Sarah Amos has been working with artists consistently for ten years, and is notable for her ability to work collaboratively to realize an artist’s vision. The collaboration is an opportunity to bring that vision to another level, and she is adept at guiding one’s approach to a different and perhaps surprising place. In this class, she works with a small, focused group to prepare plates, understand the layering of plates to create new effects, and learn inking and ghosting techniques. After the three-day class, participants are welcome to arrange additional days in the studio to continue printing.

After immigrating to the United States in the early 1990s, Amos managed the Vermont Studio Center print projects in northern Vermont for over ten years. At the Center, Amos worked with numerous well-known artists each month, printing editions and teaching monoprint technique. In the midst of this demanding schedule, she managed to find time to create her own work, to which she now devotes her entire studio schedule. Last year, she was invited as a Fellow for an internship in Venice to do printmaking, and to teach. Amos’ work appears in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the United States. She is represented by galleries in Santa Fe and Sun Valley, in addition to Reeves Contemporary in New York.
