Four-day workshop
limited to 12 participants
August 16 -19, 2007
Tuition: $600

What distinguishes a gracefully shaped memoir from a random accounting of life events? In this workshop, students will focus on developing their skills as effective writers of personal prose. They will look at examples of strong memoirs and participate in exercises to develop an understanding of memoir elements, including narrative voice, movement through time, selectivity, characterization, and setting. Students will have the opportunity to share their writing in a workshop setting and to meet individually with the instructor.
