Upcoming Courses

The mission of Great River Arts is to create and sustain a New England-based arts center to support and nurture visual and literary artists and provide regional youth programs. Great River Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing faculty from the literary and visual arts disciplines to teach in the Connecticut River Valley and other select locations. These areas of study are addressed both independently and in cross-disciplinary explorations .

In nine years of programming, Great River Arts has offered master classes and teaching workshops in the Connecticut River Valley , an inspirational location for artists and writers alike; and also in Mexico and Italy . Participants consistently confer high praise for the quality and intensity of both the programs and faculty.

Great River Arts also provides opportunities for regional schools to supplement their visual arts and creative writing programs with in-school offerings, as well as with after-school opportunities for young people in New Hampshire and Vermont .

Great River Arts is a 501(C)(3) organization, and its policies and practices are in accordance with Federal and state laws.

AT THE NEW SPHERIS GALLERY SITE IN HANOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE

SPHERIS GALLERY IN HANOVER NEW HAMPSHIRE WILL HOST AN EXHIBITION FEATURING WORK BY GREAT RIVER ARTS FACULTY FROM MAY 31 - JULY 9, 2008. PARTICIPATING FACULTY INCLUDE: DAN SNOW, PAUL BOWEN, DAVID BREWSTER, TRACEY ANDERSON, MARY GIAMMARINO AND MANY, MANY MORE.

A PORTION OF THE SALES WILL BE GIVEN TO GREAT RIVER ARTS FROM THE SPHERIS GALLERY.

IN ADDITION TO THE MAIN EXHIBIT, FACULTY AND GRAI ALUMNAE HAVE CONTRIBUTED A DELIGHTFUL ARRAY OF BEAUTIFULLY MATTED TINY WORKS OF ART TO BE SOLD AT A MODEST PRICE AS A FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE TO SUPPORT GREAT RIVER ARTS OPEN ART SCHOOL OUTREACH PROGRAMS.

April Vacation Art Camp at Great River Arts Institute

Smart Fun for Grades 3 -6

PUPPET EXTRAVAGANZA
Tuesday April 22 - Friday April 25th
9:30 - Noon

Puppet Art Extravaganza with artists Julia Zanes and Donald Saaf and performance artist and writer Kathe Izzo.

Join us for four adventure-filled days designed to knock the socks off any art-loving child! Puppet
Extravaganza is an intensive arts exploration full of thinking, making, seeing and doing (kid-friendly snack included).

A very limited number of spaces are available and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Puppet Extravaganza meets at our gorgeous natural light studio in the heart of Bellows Falls.
