Great River Arts Institute, a Regional Affiliate of The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers

The Great River Arts Institute is proud to be a premier Regional Affiliate of the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. As an Affiliate for the State of Vermont, our job is to encourage participation in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards by distributing information about the Awards and by providing support to teachers and young writers and artists throughout the submission process. As an Affiliate, Great River Arts will also organize adjudication of work on a regional level, host an exhibit and Awards ceremony for regional Award recipients and send the top regional winners’ work to compete on the national level.

National Award recipients of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are celebrated at an Awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City. An exhibition of select nationally recognized art and writing is showcased in New York during he National Celebration Events in June, 2009.

In an effort to establish ourselves as a premier printmaking destination for professional artists and instructors, we are pleased to announce the acquisition of a large bed press.
The press is a manual, 40 x 72 inch bed press, by Takach, in the 1924 Chrysler green that the owner, Dave Takach, especially likes!
Upon further funding we envision expanding our studios to include space dedicated to large-scale printmaking, available for professional residencies, renting, and instruction. In addition to our current printmaking and painting studios, all available for rent in varying formats, we hope to make our offerings a valuable asset to the local and national artistic community! For more information on the press and our rental policies, please contact, info@greatriverarts.org.
